The History of John Cullen Grain
At John Cullen Grain, we pride ourselves on being a family-run agricultural business rooted in the heart of Ballymurn, Co. Wexford.
Since establishing the company in 2005, John Cullen – a lifelong tillage farmer – has grown the business from a modest grain-drying operation into a modern, thriving feed mill serving farmers across the region.

In 2018, John was named Zurich Insurance Tillage Farmer of the Year
a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in the sector.
We also regularly host open days in partnership with Teagasc and Goldcrop, sharing best practices and supporting local farmers.

Whether it’s drying, storing, or milling – everything we do is with farmers in mind. From field to feed, John Cullen Grain is here to support you with reliable service, quality products, and a passion for Irish farming.
Born from a desire to add value to his own crops and carry on his father’s legacy in grain hauling, John began drying and storing his own grain before expanding to buy from neighbouring farmers. What started as a small-scale operation quickly developed into a vital part of the local agricultural supply chain.
In 2017, we made a significant investment by opening a state-of-the-art feed mill right here in Ballymurn. Today, the mill processes over 20,000 tonnes of feed annually using top-quality, locally sourced barley, wheat, oats, and beans.
We purchase over 25,000 tonnes of native grain each year – a commitment that supports Irish growers and guarantees premium feed for our customers.
John Cullen Grain is very much a family business, with John’s wife Karen and daughter Caoimhe actively involved in day-to-day operations.
As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to combining personal service with professional standards. Our team includes a full-time agronomist and skilled seasonal workers, ensuring expert support from field to feed.
